Michelle Yeoh was born on 6 August, 1962, in Malaysia. Her birth name is Yeoh Choo Kheng.
Yeoh is a 60-year-old Malaysian actress. She is also the first Asian woman to win an Oscar for The Best Actress.
Yeoh had been very fond of dancing since childhood, and she started learning ballet at the age of four.
She grew up in an environment where she only spoke Malay and English. She never learned to read or write Chinese.
Michelle completed her secondary education as a primary student at the Main Convent Ipoh (an all-girls secondary school).
In 1977, at the age of 15, she moved to the United Kingdom with her parents.
Later on, Yeoh enrolled at the Royal Academy of Dance in London to pursue her passion of ballet.
In 1983, Yeoh won the Miss World Malaysia beauty pageant. At the time, she was only 20 years old.
In 1984, she also won the title of Miss Moomba International 1984, which was held in Australia.
She started her acting career by performing in action and martial arts movies, where she performed the majority of her own stunts.
She made her first big-screen debut in the action movie 'The Owl vs. Bumbo'. This movie was made in Hong Kong.
Michelle got global recognition by appearing in the 1997 James Bond movie "Tomorrow Never Dies."
Some of her best movies are "Far North", Royal Warriors, "Yes, Madam", "Wing Chun", "Crazy Rich Asians" and "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon".
In 2023, Michelle won an Oscar or Academy Award for best actress for her movie Everything, Everywhere, All at Once (2022).
