Oprah Winfrey was born Oprah Gail Winfrey. Winfrey is a well-known TV personality, philanthropist, and author. She is well-known for her women empowerment programmes.

Winfrey was born on January 29, 1954. Born into a very poor family in Mississippi, Winfrey had a difficult childhood. Shortly after she was born, her parents separated.

For 6 years, Winfrey lived with her maternal grandmother in very poor conditions. To cover her body, Winfrey also had to wear a dress made of potato sacks, for which other children made fun of her. 

Her grandmother taught her to read and write. At the age of 6, Winfrey again started living with her mother.

In an interview, Winfrey said that at the age of 9, her relatives and family friends also molested and sexually abused her.

At the age of 13, Winfrey left her mother's home. Winfrey became pregnant when she was 14. But due to her premature delivery, her child could not survive.

After that, Winfrey started living with her father. who used to work as a barber in Tennessee. Living with his father, Winfrey studied until high school and made education her first priority.

At the age of 17, she started working in a grocery store. Meanwhile, she won the Miss Black Beauty Teenage Pageant contest.

after which she got a part-time job at a local radio station. Along with working, Winfrey completed his senior high school and college education.

During her further studies of speech communication, she got a job at a famous news TV channel in Maryland.

For this job, she left her studies in the middle, but after a while, she was fired from this job because she used to get very emotional while reading the news.

In 1986, after being fired, he started "The Oprah Winfrey Show." A total of 5000 episodes were broadcast in 24 seasons of this show.

Through this show, Oprah became very popular, and in 2016, she became the highest-paid black TV host. Oprah is a famous TV host today.

She is also considered one of the most powerful & influential women in America. Oprah's net worth is $3.5 billion.

lesson we learn: Your past does not define your future. If you are poor, you can be rich. If you are nothing, you can be something.
