George Harrison was born on 25 Feb, 1943. He was the lead guitarist of the famous musical band "The Beatles."


Harrison achieved global fame as the lead guitarist of The Beatles. He was also known as "the quiet Beatle." 


Harrison got his first acoustic guitar in 1956, which was bought by his father for around £3.10.


Harrison didn't complete his education, left school when he was 16, and started working as an apprentice electrician in a department store.


Harrison joined the Beatles when he was 15 years old, and his 1st song, "Don't Bother Me," appeared in the Beatles 2nd album in 1963.


He started leading the Beatles towards folk rock in 1965. He also used the Indian musical instrument "sitar" in the Beatles songs.


In 1968, Harrison released his 1st solo album, "The Wonderwall Music." His album served as the soundtrack to the film "Wonderwall."


At 58, Harrison died due to lung cancer. His ashes were cremated according to Hindu tradition in the Ganga and Yamuna holy rivers of India.


Rolling Stone magazine placed Harrison at No. 11 on their list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.


In his musical career, Harrison released 12 studio albums, 2 live albums, 35 singles, 2 video albums, and several others.


In 1997, Harrison collaborated with Indian musician Ravi Shankar and released an album called "Chants of India."
