Freddie Mercury was born on 5 September, 1946 in Zanzibar. His real name was Farrokh Bulsara.


He formed a school band called "The Hectics" when he was 12 years old.


In 1970, He formed the rock band Queen with Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon.


He was the lead vocalist, pianist of the rock band Queen & also regarded as one of the greatest rock singers in history.


In 2001, Freddie Mercury was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Queen.


In 1970, He changed his surname from Bulsara to Mercury, inspired by the line "Mother Mercury, look what they've done to me."


Apart from the Queen, Freddie Mercury released two solo albums, Mr. Bad Guy (1985) and Barcelona (1988).


He was also a cat lover & had 10 cats throughout his life, including Tom, Jerry, Delilah, Goliath, Lily, Miko, Oscar, and Romeo.


Freddie Mercury was diagnosed with AIDS in 1987 & died on November 24, 1991, at the age of 45.


He was also the richest member of the rock band Queen and has an estimated net worth of $50 million.
